Smart lighter helps smokers kick the habit

Quitbit - smart lighter

Smokers all around the world are struggling to kick the habit. Simply put – it’s not an easy task. Some are turning to nicotine patches and chewing gums, while others are gradually decreasing their daily take.

Quitbit is born in the age when every device is getting its “smart” variant. It’s a smart lighter that will let smokers track their cigarette addiction, while also helping them decrease the nicotine intake.

Quitbit is a smart lighter that will let smokers track their cigarette addiction, while also helping them decrease the nicotine intake.Working in conjunction with a mobile app, Quitbit allows users to set custom reduction plans and build new behaviors. There’s a display on the lighter that shows details about smoking habits such as amount of cigarettes smoked, time since last one, and so on.

Inside this petite device there’s a heating element similar to car lighters which lights up. It can count only when cigarettes are smoked, and will not count in mindless flicking as the “real deal.”

There are also other features, all of which you can read from Quitbit’s Kickstarter page. The team behind this project is looking to raise $50,000 to turn the smart lighter from an idea into real product. As I’m writing this, they managed to raise almost $12,000 and have 28 days to go. You can get your unit for $79 though it won’t arrive before December. Check out the promo video below.
