FitClick’s app uses voice to track calorie intake

FitClick app

Diet and fitness service FitClick released a rather unique app for tracking user’s calorie intake. Instead of typing it all up or selecting from a drop-down menu, users can simply talk to their phone and let Talk-to-Track do its magic by interpreting spoken entries to identify food items and calculate calories. Typing is also an option for those specific meals that are hard to pronounce, let alone interpret by an algorithm.

“With our app’s voice-to-auto-tracking technology, users can track meal items and quantities all at once, without ever needing to use their mobile keyboards,” says James Mrowka, President and Co-Founder of FitClick. “Talk-to-Track has reduced diet tracking from a tedious multi-minute process into something that is done in mere seconds.”

The application can track a user’s calorie consumption over the course of days, weeks and months. It also leverages learning technology to recognize common foods and quantities a user eats. In addition, the FitClick Talk-to-Track app also breaks down food by carbohydrate, protein, fiber, and fat content for a comprehensive look at nutrition. Plus, there’s the option to customize the app’s daily calorie goal to meet specific weight loss objectives.

The FitClick Talk-to-Track app is available as a free download on Android and iOS phones.
