IBM’s MobileFirst iPhone apps start getting Apple Watch support

Apple Watch Hospital RN

Apple has recently updated its webpage dedicated to enterprise apps to highlight those that sing along the Apple Watch. For those who missed it, these “MobileFirst for iOS solutions” were launched last year, as part of Apple’s deal with IBM.

Currently, only three of 22 apps on the list feature Apple Watch support — including Hospital RN, Field Connect and Incident Aware. And of those three, we at mHealth Spot only care about the first app – Hospital RN, which allows nurses to stay up-to-date on patients with notifications.

Push notifications on the iPhone and Apple Watch alert nurses to review patient requests, changes in lab status, safety alerts, and prioritized task lists for immediate action. The Apple Watch “part” of the app lets nurses quickly view notifications so they can spend less time tracking down information and be more focused on patient care.

As for the other two titles, Field Connect is an app for field technicians; while Incident Aware, is made for police officers and public safety officials.
