American Well, Doximity to help doctors establish virtual practices

American Well telehealth

American Well is teaming-up with Doximity, the social network for physicians, to bring telehealth to doctors looking to extend care beyond the walls of their practices. American Well’s telehealth platform, Amwell, makes it easy for physicians to see patients on their computers and mobile devices.

“American Well is one of our earliest telehealth clients and has proven itself as a market-leading platform for doctors who want to practice online,” said Joel Davis, VP Hiring Solutions at Doximity. “Physicians appreciate their advanced video technology which allows them to interact with patients in a way that maintains the personal feel of an in-office visit.”

Amwell’s technology enables doctors to integrate telehealth into their current practice workflow and reach their patients outside normal office hours and location.

Demand for affordable, accessible telehealth technology is rapidly growing, with 64 percent of consumers saying they would like to see their doctors over video and 57 percent saying they are willing to see patients over video.

Doximity’s platform is used by more than 500,000 U.S. physician members.
