Lively Wearable by GreatCall is activity tracker for active aging

Lively Wearable

On the heels of its acquisition of Lively, GreatCall announced the Lively Wearable device to add activity tracking into its active aging service.

Designed to be worn with either the wristband or around the neck with the lanyard, Lively Wearable pairs with an iOS or Android smartphone to enable the service that GreatCall says fits the needs of both the older adult and the family caregiver. This combination, according to the company’s CEO David Inns, is critical to adoption.

“We’ve taken the energy of the Lively name and, building on a decade of research and consumer insight, applied it to this innovative new wearable that truly makes a difference in living a safer, more active life,” Inns said in a statement.

Available in a choice of white with gold trim or grey with silver, the fairly modern lookin’ Lively Wearable uses built-in accelerometer to track the user’s steps and features a one-touch button to connect to 5Star service and its team of agents in emergency situations. It comes with an easy-to-grasp user interface, while its battery can last for up to six months. The device is also water-proof, and together with the companion Lively app, it encourages mental, physical and social activity through daily challenges and virtual rewards.

The GreatCall Lively Wearable will be available from GreatCall’s website in Spring 2016 and at retail Summer 2016. The device itself costs $99.99 while the companion service starts at $14.99 per month with no contract.
