Speedo Shine 2 is the second generation of the two companies’ wearable for swimmers

Misfit Speedo 2

Misfit and swimwear brand Speedo are yet again teaming-up to launch the second generation of their Speedo Shine device. The new product builds on the original Speedo Shine that was unveiled last august, adding improved tracking and more enhanced sensors that were introduced with the Shine 2. Also, the Speedo Shine 2 is thinner than its predecessor and water resistant up to 50 meters. Faster syncing, improved touch responsiveness, display lights in more colors, and a longer-range Bluetooth radio come included as well.

Feature wise, the wearable includes lap counting, and is able to deliver notifications to one’s wrist. Compared to the “regular” Shine 2, the Speedo-branded version is $10 more expensive. Consequently, for the same amount of money those who already bought the Shine 2 can upgrade their device with swim-specific algorithms. Said option is available as an in-app purchase in the Misfit app.

Like the original device, the Speedo Shine 2 will integrate with both Misfit’s app and the SpeedoFit app.
