Misfit Vapor 2 unveiled: Wear OS smartwatch that comes in two sizes

Misfit Vapor 2 - 2 sizes

Misfit announced a new version of its Vapor smartwatch that this time round comes in two versions, 41mm and 46mm, to be more accessible to people of all wrist sizes. In comparison, the original Vapor smartwatch was only available in a 44mm case. The two (the first Vapor and the new Vapor 2) look very similar, though.

Inside, the Vapor 2 packs all the sensors a modern smartwatch would need, including an improved heart rate sensor, accelerometer, altimeter and gyroscope, as well as a standalone GPS — an improvement compared to the first Vapor. Also, there is NFC support so that you can use Google Pay in places where it’s available, 512MB of RAM, as well as 4GB of onboard storage for songs and other files.

On the downside though, Misfit’s new watch packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100, which is not the latest and greatest chip for wearable devices — that would be the Wear 3100 that delivers improved battery life, better ambient display functionality, and more.

Depending on the watch size you select, the Vapor 2 will have either a 1.2- or 1.4-inch OLED screen, and 300 or 330 mAh battery. The pricing starts at $249.99, and as usual with Misfit’s products, there are many accessories to choose from.
