As an independent company, no longer part of Nokia, Withings has decided to up its game. Just recently, it announced Withings Steel HR Sport with GPS and VO2 Max tracking — and is now out with yet another product.
The Withings Pulse HR, however, is a different beast; it is a rather basic fitness tracker with built-in heart rate reader. It's not like we haven't heard of it before, but now the device is officially here and is able to track over 30 different activities, from running to yoga, volleyball and skiing.
Like the Steel HR, the Pulse HR also boasts the connected GPS — meaning you must have your phone nearby — in order for the device to capture your routes. And then go through them through the Withings Health Mate app. On the other hand, you won't get VO2 Max tracking (unlike in the Steel HR).
Withings says users will get up to 20 days of battery life, and use the Pulse HR to track their sleep — in addition to activity.
The band comes with a black and stainless steel case with black silicone strap, but Withings will be selling a selection of other colored wristbands separately. It is now up for pre-order for $129.95 and will ship starting December 5th.
