Mount Sinai to use OffTheScale’s wellness platform

OffTheScale

OffTheScale (OTS) will be deploying its wellness platform to be used by Mount Sinai Health System employees. OTS’ offering won’t be the only option available though — it will be used in addition to Mount Sinai’s existing employee wellness initiatives.

OffTheScale’s multi-channel platform combines in-person sessions with online community tools and mobile apps to deliver structured physical activity, nutritional education and lifestyle change planning. This, the company claims, maximizes engagement and maintains long term participation and positive outcomes for the users.

“OffTheScale has proven it can significantly reduce the health risks associated with the development of chronic health conditions, and we look forward to working as part of the wellness team at Mount Sinai,” OffTheScale Co-Founder Ashley John Heather said in a statement. “OffTheScale combines the best of face-to-face group engagement with high frequency digital engagement tools that deliver effective methods, for not just weight loss and healthy eating, but more importantly long term sustainable lifestyle behavior change.”

The collaboration with Mount Sinai will focus on supporting an established number of employees to identify barriers that hinder them from achieving optimal health, empower employees with a personalized nutritional lifestyle and exercise plan, and connect each employee with an OTS personal change agent and support group. Employees will meet weekly with their OTS change agent and fellow employees who will serve as their team members over a 12 week period.
