Digital health accelerator Health Wildcatters has unveiled nine new companies selected to participate in the 2017 program, and its portfolio now includes 32 companies spanning the healthcare spectrum.
Each selected startup will participate in the 12 week accelerator program, and receive $30k in exchange for 8% equity stake. During the program, the startups will be paired with appropriate mentors and partners to validate their business model, product development and business development. At the end of the program, the “Pitch Day” will take place on November 8, 2017, at the Majestic Theater, where startups will pitch to an audience of investors and the Dallas community.
“This is a unique class we have this year with the majority of startups being in the medical device space,” Hubert Zajicek, CEO of Health Wildcatters, said in a statement. “We look forward to watching as they work through their unique business models and developing these devices that could change the healthcare industry drastically.”
Latest startups selected for the Health Wildcatters program include:
- Articulate Labs – developer of medical technology that restores mobility and improves rehabilitation through augmented activity.
- Ataia – developer of a medical device and communication system that allows hospital patients to speak with their physicians, caregivers and family.
- Benefizz – maker of a sparkling probiotic drink with fewer than five grams of sugar per bottle.
- Buck Brush Company – which sells electric toothbrushes using a subscription-based business model.
- Frameri – designer of the first patent-pending interchangeable eyewear brand that lets consumers buy frames and lenses separately.
- Gregor Diagnostics – a molecular diagnostics developer of a revolutionary new screening test for prostate cancer.
- MedNoxa – which makes consumer wound care materials for an easier, cheaper and faster way of healing from acute and chronic wounds.
- Nobo – maker of a connected wearable device that monitors hydration levels of elite athletes.
- VenoStent – which has developed a medical device focused on helping dialysis patients live longer, less painful and more prosperous lives.
Since 2013, 42 companies have graduated from Health Wildcatters’ accelerator program and raised over $23M to grow and scale.
