Apple’s iOS 9.3 to include new health features

Apple iOS 9.3

The latest preview of iOS 9.3 includes a number of new health-based features, including an update to Apple’s own Health app.

Said app will get a new slider menu from where users can learn about third party apps for a number of categories including weight, workouts, and sleep. Beyond brief app descriptions, download links to titles such as Calorie Counter, Lose It!, Health Mate, Mayo Clinic, and iHealth MyVitals will be provided as well.

Also the Health app will show the user their move, exercise, and stand data along with their own goals.

Arguably related to the health subject, the Apple Notes app will get support for fingerprint or password protected notes so that users can keep their health-based and other sensitive information on their phones (and tablets).

Finally, there’s the new Night Shift mode focused on sleep. Backed by a number of studies that have shown exposure to blue light before bed can impact a user’s circadian rhythms, iPhones and iPads will automatically change the color of the screen based on user’s location and time to help you get a better night’s sleep.

Apple hasn’t mentioned any dates, but chances are the new version of iOS 9.3 will be available in the next month or so.
