Zebra Medical Vision gets $12M in a round led by InterMountain Healthcare

Zebra Medical Vision

Zebra Medical Vision has raised $12 million in a round led by integrated care provider InterMountain Healthcare, which plans to work with the company to accelerate the creation of meaningful imaging algorithms to improve patient care. Also participating in the round were Zebra’s existing investors.

Founded in 2014, Zebra Medical Vision has developed technology that can read and diagnose medical imaging data to help healthcare providers analyze millions of imaging records. The company’s platform has already yielded imaging insights that have been validated using hundreds of thousands of cases. Current algorithms are in the fields of bone health, cardiovascular analysis, liver and lung indications; and can be applied to provide health and risk management insights to patients and providers.

“We are privileged that one of the top healthcare systems in the U.S. has placed such confidence in our team and our platform,” Elad Benjamin, Zebra’s CEO, said in a statement, “In an environment where computing power and machine learning frameworks are becoming a commodity, the ability to quickly and efficiently curate large quantities of data from a world class integrated healthcare provider can make the difference between simplistic tools and insights that can truly add clinical value and positively impact patient care.”

The company will use the funds to accelerate the development of its imaging analytics engine and create neural networks that will use Zebra’s vast imaging dataset to assist radiologists with automated diagnostic algorithms.
