DoctorBase has hired Josh Angeles, former Sales Manager of the online appointment company ZocDoc, to head their sales development efforts. This is the first time the company has created a sales management position.
“I’m passionate about healthcare technologies and being part of a startup like DoctorBase that already has so much traction and growth was exciting to me,” said Josh Angeles. “The San Francisco health-tech scene is exploding, and it’s an amazing time to be involved in it.”
DoctorBase has raised only $1 million in seed funding in 2013, but is fast approaching profitability with high annual double digit growth since its inception in 2010.
“Josh and I both shared the same philosophy about the need for health-tech startups to focus more on real customer success than clichés of ‘hockey stick growth,’ so the idea of working together just felt natural,” said DoctorBase founder John Sung.
Offering a suite of cloud-based, mobile-friendly marketing and communications SaaS to healthcare organizations, DoctorBase is becoming a leader in the emerging field of Patient Engagement Software, a growing new vertical within the B2B digital health startup ecosystem.
