Lift Digital secures $1M to connect clients with personal trainers

Lift Digital, which operates a live video-based training platform that connects users with personal trainers, has managed to secure $1 million to expand its service by launching an online fitness marketplace.

The company allows a trainer to connect with a client for a personalized workout on an iPad or TV when the client can’t make it to the gym. They held a successful beta test in the fall of 2014 and now has several other pilot programs in progress with fitness clubs in major U.S. and Canadian cities.

“There are major pain points that plague fitness clubs and personal trainers, such as seasonality and client turnover,” said CEO Chris Blyth in a statement. “Lift eliminates these issues, which results in consistent, predictable, and increased revenue streams.”

The company’s app, Lift Session, is currently available for iPad users. Chances are that part of the expansion will include launching an Android app launch.
