Swarovski, Misfit team-up over fancy activity tracker

Swarovski Shine

Swarovski and Misfit are using this year’s CES to announce the Swarovski Shine, a special version of Misfit’s popular activity and sleep tracker that combines “style with function.” As such, the device will complement wardrobes of women as they go about their “multifaceted lives.”

Like the regular Shine, the Swarovski version also measures steps, calories burned, distance and sleep quality, while synchronizing with an app on the wearer’s smartphone. With a single tap, the tracker will light up to indicate time and the status of activity accomplished for the day.

Later this year, Swarovski and Shine will unveil vibrant violet-colored, solar-powered Shine activity tracker that will not require any charging or battery changes.“With the Swarovski Shine collection, we were able to bring our strong jewelry styling point of view, developing versatile pieces which can work with this very practical device to really address modern and multifaceted women,” said Creative Director Nathalie Colin.

Swarovski’s activity tracking jewelry is available as a set, or as single products. Sets include the Swarovski Shine; a bracelet, watch band or pendant; and a sleek sport band with 50m waterproof resistance. The coordinating watch bands, bracelets and pendants are also available as single products that not only can hold the Swarovski Shine, but are also fully compatible with the Misfit Shine Fitness and Sleep Monitor.

In addition, later this year, the two companies will bring another even more cutting-edge innovation to the Swarovski Shine family. In a vibrant violet, the tracker will be the first not to require any charging or battery changes.

The fancy Swarovski Shine device and accessories will be available in the U.S. later this month, with select Swarovski boutiques in China, Hong-Kong and USA getting the goodies in late March.
