Iagnosis, owner of the virtual visit skin care service DermatologistOnCall, raised $1.2 million, according to an SEC filing.
DermatologistOnCall offers online consultations with a smartphone, tablet or computer. In order to get started with the service, patients are first required to fill out a questionnaire that determines whether they are suitable for online care or not.
After that, they fill-in demographic info and other basic facts, and are matched with a doctor who will look into their pictures of the skin condition that needs treatment. Users without coverage pay $59 per consult.
Typically patients wait 10 hours to get a response, while the max time is three and a half days. After the diagnosis, patients can message back and forth with the dermatologist for 30 days.
DermatologistOnCall says its doctors can address over 3,000 skin conditions.
The company has raised some $10 million to date, $2.8 million of which came in May 2014.
