Figure 1, which is touted as “Instagram for doctor,” updated its mobile app to allow doctors to instantly receive feedback from colleagues around the world. Described as the app’s “most important update yet,” it is available for both iOS and Android devices.
Paging will doctors to connect across institutions, countries, and borders at any moment. Also, in the home feed, users will see paging posts with an “accepted answer” that has been chosen by the healthcare professional that uploaded the case.
The feature effectively turns Figure 1 into a messaging app, though we have hard time seeing it competing with the likes of WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger (which is not the point here, anyway).
Founded by Joshua Landy in mid-2012, the Toronto-based company has hundreds of thousands healthcare professionals on its platform who have cumulatively uploaded millions of pictures.
