Boston-based meQuilibrium raised $9 million for its mobile stress management program. Safeguard Scientifics led the funding round with participation from Chrysalis Ventures.
The service allows employers to provide stress management service to their employees so they could boost positivity in the workplace. The process starts with employees taking the meQ Stress Assessment which includes 140 questions that evaluate the user’s personality type, thinking patterns, habits and lifestyle. It then identifies which areas create the most stress in their lives, and creates an action plan that explains where their stress is most pronounced and why they may feel stressed by certain things.
meQuilibrium recommends using the app for 10 minutes a day, but also take longer sessions, around 20 minutes every week. As users complete various tasks, their meQ Score — which measures stress levels — improves.
“Resilience is the antidote and the unsung hero in the wellness and health continuum,” meQuilibrium CEO Jan Bruce said in a statement. “It can impact business in a way that wellness solutions don’t even begin to address… meQuilibrium is bringing the power of resilience to employers to impact hard core business processes and achieve measurable results, while boosting every employee’s personal sense of well-being.”
