Pear Sports has raised an additional $821,000, according to an SEC filing, for its activity tracking and audio coaching service.

No names were provided in the SEC documents, but MobiHealthNews thinks one of investors could be the Running Specialty Group (RSG), a subsidiary of shoe retailer Finish Line, which disclosed in a statement in April that they had made a small strategic investment in Pear Sports.

Pear Sports and RSG worked together on the RSG training channel, a collection of downloadable training content and fitness programs including interactive and personalized audio coaching and tracking tools. The company has also worked with imATHLETE to develop special coaching programs for athletes to use on the day of a big race.

A year ago, Pear raised $5 million in a round led by existing investors Innovate Partners and Nordic Ventures, with participation from smart TV company VIZIO. At that time, the company said it will use the funds to expand sales and marketing for its app and white-label product called “Powered by Pear.” Pear is working with well known coaches and celebrity athletes to recruit users to the platform. Coaches on the platform include Andrew Kastor, Jenny Hadfield, and Matt Dixon, as well as pre- and post-natal exercise specialist Nancy Anderson.
