Sense.ly, which makes the virtual nurse platform for patient engagement and chronic disease monitoring, has raised $2.2 million in a Series A funding in a round led by Launchpad Digital Health with participation from Fenox Venture Capital and TA Ventures. The company will use the fresh funds to enter new markets, expand support of its global customer base, and drive enhancements to its product, particularly in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Sense.ly’s virtual nurse called Molly engages patients with natural conversation through a wide variety of circumstances from simple administrative needs through complex chronic conditions requiring medical assistance. With the help of Molly, patients can take their vitals measurements; chat about their pain, sleep, stress, and diet; or connect with an attending physician via video call. The platform is available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and Mandarin, along with 24 other languages.

Beyond new funding, the company also announced new customers and partners which have deployed the service, including UK’s NHS (National Health Service), Dudley CCG, Novartis, and UCSF.

“Our steadily growing customer base and revenue combined with this current equity raise gives us the runway to intelligently scale the business, reach new geographies, and accelerate product development to reach our vision of providing the highest quality patient care at dramatically lower costs,” said Adam Odessky, Sense.ly’s Co-Founder and CEO.
