China’s Sleepace raises $7M Series B for its sleep tracking tech

Sleepace RestOn

China-based Sleepace has raised $7 million in Series B funding, TechInAsia is reporting. The round was led by retail chain Luolai Home Textile, with participation from the local ecommerce giant JD.

The company is best known for its sleep tracking device RestOn that was available in the West through the Indiegogo campaign. Said device is made to lie across the width of a bed in order to monitor a user’s sleep cycles, movements, respiratory rate, and heart rate; and then beam that information to a companion mobile app.

Beyond its crowdfunding efforts both in China and in the West, Sleepace also raised $3 million Series A round from Gobi Ventures.

Going forward, the company will use JD’s smart home platform to make Reston work with the JD+ controller app for web-connected home devices. On the other hand, the backing of Luolai, will give the gadget a big visibility boost in the chain’s furniture stores.
