MOOV NOW wearable goes beyond activity tracking

MOOV NOW

MOOV, the company that created a fitness tracker with companion coaching program, launched its second device, which is obviously better than its predecessor, albeit still lacking a heart rate sensor.

Called MOOV NOW, this wearable wants to go beyond activity and sleep tracking, to actually coach users to push harder and achieve their fitness goals. It does that by providing real-time feedback (audio and visual guidance) with actionable insight into every workout so that users can learn how to improve every movement.

When running, the MOOV NOW advises when to land softer, shorten stride, or pick up the pace; the swimming programme provides automatic lap, stroke, and turn breakdown and the cycling programme monitors speed, distance, cadence, elevation and provides gear coaching. The 7-minute workout and cardio boxing programmes provide an interactive experience ensuring users work to their full potential.

“The market is saturated with fitness trackers that all do the same thing – passive activity tracking. MOOV NOW goes beyond basic data, and coaches users through every swim, run, training session and more,” said Meng Li, co-founder and CEO of Moov.

Compared to the original MOOV, the new device is smaller, has a slightly tweaked design as well as what the company says is the “ultra-comfortable strap.” It [MOOV NOW] also packs a replaceable battery that lasts six months, and will work with third-party heart rate monitors. Users will get to choose between a few different colors, including Aqua Blue, Fusion Red, Blizzard White and Stealth Black.

MOOV NOW is compatible with the original 12+ programs and 200+ variations and levels of Run & Walk, Swimming, Cycling, Cardio Boxing and 7 Minutes+ Workout apps, with additional programs such as Spinning and Tabata bodyweight workout coming in the near future.

The wearable is now up for pre-order for $59.99, but once it starts shipping in fall, the price will jump to $99.
