Misfit is teaming-up with Speedo to launch a Speedo-branded Shine activity tracker. The upcoming Speedo Shine will initially be available in retail exclusively at Apple stores worldwide on September 1st, as well as on misfit.com and SpeedoUSA.com, for $79.99.

As you would imagine, the Speedo Shine was designed with swimmers in mind, featuring what Misfit calls proprietary lap counting algorithms to track a swimmer’s lap count with industry-leading accuracy. This accuracy, the press release continues, has been validated by Speedo in-pool testing at their advanced development facility, the Aqualab, and works for all stroke types.

Speedo Shine is made out of durable aircraft-grade aluminum and is offered in new light silver color – Pure.Like all other Misfit Shine device, the Speedo-branded product works with a companion Misfit app for iOS and Android, displaying laps and swim distance, along with calories burned and points earned. The wearable will also work with Speedo’s own swim tracking app, Speedo Fit.

“One of the most difficult parts of swimming for fitness is keeping track of laps and the Speedo Shine eliminates that challenge,” according to Speedo athlete, fitness ambassador, and Olympic Gold Medalist Missy Franklin.

Speedo Shine is made out of durable aircraft-grade aluminum and is offered in new light silver color, Pure. Like the original Misfit Shine, Speedo Shine is waterproof up to 50 meters. It is thin and comfortable, hence easy to be worn both in and out of the water. Outside of water, it will track walking, running, cycling, as well as light and deep sleep.
