Smart pill box VV-Box launching soon on Kickstarter

Smart pill box VV-Box

China-based Xiaohe Intelligent Technology is getting ready to launch a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for its WiFi-enabled smart pillbox called VV-Box.

Said device — which is currently in the final stages of production — is described as elegantly-designed, sporting infrared sensors that accurately organize and track daily medication intake according to a schedule, and are able to send personalized reminders through a smartphone app. In other words, VV-Box promises a peace of mind to anyone with aging parents or loved ones who require medication or supplementation.

The VV-Box crowdfunding campaign will launch in late September with a funding goal of $50,000.The user simply places bottles of medications or health supplements into the compartments of VV-Box and sets a reminder. A pre-set audio message will automatically play at any assigned time. From there, the person who takes the medication and all other family members who have installed the VV-Box app on their smartphone or tablet will be able to keep track of the routine, actual fulfillment of the daily schedule, and customize motion-activated greetings and reminders through the app.

VV-Box features two compartments of different sizes – 3.9″ diameter and 2.4″ diameter — made to fit the most popular pill bottle sizes. When the user picks up a bottle, the built-in infrared system sensors the movement and automatically records the drug use behavior and timing.
