Denmark-based Cortrium has raised $1.6 million (1.5 million Euros) for its wearable health tracking device, called C3, designed for both in-patient and home health monitoring. Myant, a division of Myant Capital Partners, provided the funds.
The C3 can measure ECG, heart rate, respiratory rate, skin surface temperature, heart rate recovery, provide sleep analysis, heart rate variability, physical activity level, and motion, with the ability to track oxygen saturation (SpO2) and blood pressure coming in the next version of the device. Once collected, this data is sent via Bluetooth to a tablet and then to the cloud where it can be reviewed by a doctor.
Cortrium plans to use the fresh capital to clear regulatory hurdles and conduct clinical trials, with plans to launch the C3 in Europe and North America.
Last year, the company took part in the Grants4Apps accelerator program, which is run by Bayer HealthCare.
