Ask The Doctor acquires UK-based telehealth service provider

After India, Toronto-based Ask The Doctor is looking to the UK market for growth. There, they have acquired Patients Connected, one of the largest telehealth services in the country that connects thousands of patients to licensed physicians across the UK.

Ask The Doctor will use over 35,000 doctors on Patients Connected’s platform to fulfill the large demand of medical questions coming in from the United Kingdom. Also, with the acquisition, the company will have access to more patients from the UK and will be able to offer them immediate medical advice.

The company has just over 500,000 active users globally on its secured medical platform (SMP) and receives a large volume of medical questions daily that are answered by top doctors within an hour by email. Ask The Doctor will be launching its phone, video chat and text chat options to the American market in their third quarter of this year.

In September, the company has acquired India-based health platform Sehat.
