Validic, which makes a platform that connects to a number of health and fitness devices, is teaming-up with contract research organization (CRO) Quintiles.
Quintiles will be able to use Validic’s technology to improve the frequently costly, lengthy recruitment process for clinical trials. The data gathered by Validic’s platform will give detailed insights into a patient’s daily and overall health, allowing Quintiles and eventually other CROs to more efficiently identify whether a participant is a good match for a clinical trial or not.
The partnership will provide an easy way for clinical trial participants to submit their vital signs through a mobile device to clinicians. The partnership will provide an easy way for clinical trial participants to submit their vital signs through a mobile device to clinicians. It will cut down costs by removing the need for in-person evaluations; also, remote monitoring will help researchers identify potential drug side effects as well as long-term efficacy of the drugs more quickly.
“We believe that these new data sources will simplify and enrich the broader research experience for our biopharmaceutical customers, researchers and patients,” said John Reites, Head of Digital Health Acceleration at Quintiles.
Quintiles, a Fortune 500 company, is a provider of biopharmaceutical development and commercial outsourcing services with a network of more than 32,000 employees conducting business in approximately 100 countries. It is by far the largest CRO partner in Validic’s network.
