Joining the burgeoning digital fitness market is Find Your Trainer, which has raised $1.5 million in seed money for its service that connects customers with personal trainers.
The company’s idea is to make it easy for end-users to find a personal trainer, who can come directly to the user’s house, or they could meet at local gym or in the park.
Trainers on the platform can set their own pricing, though typically users will end-up paying between $50 and $80, which is lower than the base $120 fee a gym like Equinox is charging. Users can order a trainer on a one-off basis or purchase a four-pack.
Also, users have the ability to schedule their workout as soon as tomorrow or up to two weeks out, with the FYT platform handling everything from scheduling to payments for both parties. This, according to the company, removes all the hassle from the process, with both trainers and clients rarely taking their relationship off the platform.
FYT on its end will make sure every user gets the right trainer for his or her individual needs, based on things like goals, location and other preferences.
The company is currently present in over 300 cities in 10 states.
