Beyond announcing its 2016 flagship smartphone duo, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, Samsung also had a few other interesting devices on display at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
One of them is a fancy looking activity and sleep tracker called Charm. It is a rather basic device that doesn’t have a display of its own but a few LEDs to replay notifications from a connected smartphone.
Samsung Charm comes in two different form factors, a bar and a square, both adorned with exquisite bands and patterns. The point of this “new type of wearable,” as Samsung likes to call it, is to make activity tracking tech appealing to the wider audience, the folks who don’t necessarily like the idea of quantifying themselves.
Those who dig the concept will eventually be able to choose between two different form factors — a bar and a square — both adorned with exquisite bands and patterns, and available in three color options – Rose Quartz, black and gold.
The device sings along the dedicated Charm app as well as S Health where your steps, distance walked and calories burned will be safely stored and accessible on demand.
The Charm integrates a 17 mAh battery, which is said to last for up to 18 days on a single charge. No word on when it will be available for purchase nor how much you’ll have to pay for one…
