LifeBEAM gets $16M to launch its Awareable product

LifeBEAM has closed a $16 million funding round, led by Squarepeg Capital with participation from Wellborn VC, Cerca Partners, Atomic14 VC, Triventures VC and a number of angel investors. The company will use the funds to expand its positioning within the fast-growing wearables category with a quantum leap the company calls “Awareables.” These sort of products will integrate highly accurate biometrics and a personal training agent, providing users with an interactive training experience for fitness and everyday well-being.

“This is another significant milestone to help us fully accomplish our Awareable vision. Our new product is designed to provide consumers with the most personalized and insight-driven workout experiences,” Omri Yoffe, Co-Founder & CEO of LifeBEAM, said in a statement. “This funding round will allow us to expand our consumer product roadmap, inspired by our core product and technology foundations and our team’s passion for bringing a healthier lifestyle to the masses.”

LifeBEAM’s technology has been used by pilots and astronauts, as well as consumer brands such as Samsung, Under Armour, and JBL. The company will to launch its first Awareable product this spring on crowdfunding website Kickstarter.
