Practice Unite and Uniphy Health are merging to create what they say will be the “healthcare industry’s most comprehensive communications and collaboration solutions provider.” The combined entity will be known as Uniphy Health, and will provide healthcare organizations with compliant, mobile-first solutions that address the complete spectrum of communication and collaboration needs of mid-sized and large-scale healthcare organizations.

“The new Uniphy Health is an innovative, secure communication platform that finally delivers to healthcare delivery organizations the fluidity engagement we’ve come to expect from consumer products, combined with the privacy and security of a solution created for care delivery organizations from the ground up,” Jacob Reider MD, health care technology innovator and former Deputy National coordinator and chief medical officer of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, said in a statement.

Uniphy Health invokes third-party services that allow users to stay within one app instead of continually switching among many.Uniphy Health’s full suite of services includes acute care solutions with secure text, VOIP calling, critical lab, consult delivery and on call schedules; physician engagement solutions that utilize a social media-like approach to delivering targeted content; home care solutions that improve remote patient monitoring and automate documentation; and patient engagement solutions that create a secure channel between the patient and care team.

Additionally, Uniphy Health acts as a “single pane of glass” that invokes third-party applications that give users the efficiency of staying within one app instead of continually switching among many.

The company’s clients include Barnabas-Health Jersey City Medical Center; Inspira Health Network of Vineland, New Jersey; Urbana, Illinois-based Carle Hospital and Physician Group; and New York’s Independence Care System. They also put these organizations in a stronger position to transition to the new world of population health.”
