BioBeats gets $2.28M for its stress-fighting platform

BioBeats has raised $2.28 million in a round led by White Cloud Capital, with participation from AXA Strategic Ventures and IQ Capital.

The company has developed the stress-relieving app, Hear and Now, that takes the data from wearable devices and puts it into a biometric machine-learning platform to deliver insights to healthcare providers or employers.

Founded in 2013 by Dr. David Plans, Nadeem Kassam and David Morelli – BioBeats doesn’t make a wearable device of its own, and is rather relying on existing products. It has developed a platform to gather biometric data such as heart rate, skin conductance and movement, and provide users with coaching based on their health goals.

Said platform can integrate with HR systems to improve workforce wellbeing and productivity. It is currently in pilot programmes in major U.K. and U.S. companies.

Still an iPhone exclusive title, the Hear and Now app produces visuals and music that adapt in real-time to data from wrist-worn wearables in order to coach the user in managing stress.
