Garmin unveiled a new fitness tracker, one that looks like a regular watch and in that sense reminds us on similar products Withings offers (the Activité series). Called vívomove, this analog watch with activity tracking features is said to combine classic design with function, while monitoring steps and sleep as well as reminding users when they’ve been inactive too long. The device is water resistant up to 50 meters and has a one year battery life.
“The style-focused vívomove is an exciting addition to Garmin’s wide-ranging line of activity trackers, making it easier than ever to stay fashionable and active,” Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales, said in a statement. “Whether you’re heading into the boardroom or walking into a ballpark, vívomove has you and your steps covered.”
The vívomove sport costs $149.99, vívomove classic – $199.99, while vívomove premium goes for $299.99.The Garmin vívomove is available in several models: the sleek vívomove sport, vívomove classic with leather straps, and the more upscale vívomove premium with leather straps and full steel body. There is also a number of interchangeable leather and silicone strap options to choose from, as well as a variety of fashionable case finishes including black, white, rose gold-tone, stainless steel, and gold-tone.
The watch face features two bars that show step progress and inactivity at a glance. The vívomove also tracks how well users slept by monitoring movement and restlessness.
All this data is sent to the companion app, Garmin Connect Mobile, that enables users to track their progress, access online fitness community, join challenges, and get personalized advice based on the data vívomove collects throughout the day.
The vívomove sport (black or white) costs $149.99, classic (black with leather band or rose gold-tone with leather band) – $199.99, and premium (stainless steel with leather band or gold-tone steel with leather band) – $299.99.
The vívomove accessory sport bands will be available in white and black for $29.99, while leather accessory bands will be available in black, rose gold/white, dark brown, and light brown for $59.99. Users, however, can go for any other 20mm band on the market, if they fancy so.
