At a recent event, Huawei unveiled a new wearable device that goes beyond activity and sleep tracking to include UV tracker to the mix.
Thanks to the last mentioned feature, those wearing the A1 will benefit from radiation level measurements around them that are delivered alongside advice on a suitable sunscreen to use.
The A1 band will be available in China from May 25th for CNY 99 (about $15) with the silicone band, or CNY 199 ($30) with the leather strap. Also, the sleep tracking “part” is apparently pretty savvy and will be able to “cope” with both short naps and all-night sleep.
Users can also expect notifications that are delivered with an integrated LED light and with vibrations.
The Huawei Honor Band A1 connects to an iPhone or Android device via Bluetooth 4.2. It has a 70 mAh battery that will reportedly last for up to 28 days after which it will need a recharge (via a standard microUSB cable).
The band weighs 20 grams, is made out of metal, and comes with an IP57 rating, meaning you can take a shower with it, but forget swimming.
Huawei is launching the A1 in China where users can pick one up starting from May 25th for CNY 99 (about $15) with the silicone band, or CNY 199 ($30) if you want the leather strap. There are eight color options to choose from.
