S Health is dead, long live Samsung Health

Samsung Health app

Samsung Health is the new S Health, the Korean giant has announced. All of the features remained in place, enabling users to track their steps, record daily activities, get health tips, and challenge friends to fitness goals. Also, there are several new features such as telehealth, personalized insights, social capabilities, along with a new user interface — all designed to “empower individuals to transform their health.”

The Samsung Health app key features:

The most important addition to the app is the “Ask an Expert” feature that enables users to connect, via video, to a board-certified doctor. The initial cost per visit is for $59 without insurance coverage, and may be even less as many employers and insurance companies cover telehealth service. Developed in partnership with American Well, “Ask an Expert” provides access to more than 1,200 board certified licensed physicians with an average of 10-15 years of clinical experience. It also enables users to obtain written prescriptions from their physician, if required.

At launch, Samsung Health can integrate with many devices beyond smartphones and smartwatches, including various connected home systems and IoT devices such as heart rate monitors, weight scales, activity trackers, and medical instruments.

Samsung Health has more than 60 million monthly active users, and 11 million daily active users worldwide, and is available globally across 150 countries.
