Telehealth service and technology provider American Well announced a new strategic partnership with Samsung Electronics to develop new healthcare services for providers, delivery networks, payers, and employers.
“Mobile technology offers the promise to empower consumers and simplify how healthcare is delivered,” Harry Kim, Samsung Mobile Health Business Lead, said in a statement. “Our partnership with American Well is an exciting opportunity to innovate new experiences that improve health and business outcomes.”
American Well’s Chairman Dr. Ido Schoenberg is also pleased with the deal, adding that this collaboration is the “next major step in the evolution of integrated care delivery and will have a sweeping impact on the whole healthcare ecosystem, providers, payers, and patients included.”
Major healthcare industry players, especially those that are already working with American Well, also love the deal. Among those are NewYork-Presbyterian, Cleveland Clinic and Anthem, all of which will have the opportunity to offer their services to millions of Samsung device users.
