WEGO Health, which is a network of more than 100,000 patient leaders, has partnered with CureClick to make patient influencers available through the CureClick clinical trial recruiting platform. Under the deal, the two companies will leverage their combined expertise in crowdsourced patient recruitment to reduce the time, costs and friction associated with clinical trial enrollment.

The partnership enables CureClick to bolster its reach by connecting with a broad network of patient leaders across virtually every health condition, including chronic, complex and rare diseases. On the other hand, it enables WEGO Health and its members to benefit from the outreach, recruiting and tracking services pioneered by CureClick.

“WEGO Health and CureClick have a shared vision to transform healthcare,” Jack Barrette, WEGO Health founder and CEO, said in a statement. “Together, we have a stronger foundation to eliminate the barriers to clinical trial recruitment and connect the healthcare industry with highly-skilled patient experts.”

The partnership addresses one of the most difficult challenges facing pharmaceutical companies throughout the drug development and approval process, with two-thirds of clinical trial recruitment sites not meeting the enrollment goals for a given trial, according to a Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development (CSDD) report.

“Joining forces with WEGO Health greatly enhances our ability to drive quality patient referrals at scale,” Fabio Gratton, CureClick CEO and co-founder, said in a statement. “Quickly and affordably recruiting the right patients for the right trials is one of our industry’s largest pain points, and this partnership solves it.”
