MapMyFitness partnership with Gympact allows users to set goals and get paid for meeting them

MapMyFitness has teamed-up with Gympact to make it easier to find motivation for daily exercises. Through this partnership, users can connect their MapMyFitness and Gympact accounts and get paid for meeting their goals.

In order to get started, users should not only link the two accounts, but also download the Gympact app, which is available for iPhone and Android. Then they should make a pact by setting the number of days per week they want to work out and the monetary stakes if they miss. And then the work begins, and that work should be tracked with the MapMyFitness app. All workouts with at least 30 minutes of activity above 2 miles/hour will count toward the Pact. Those who meet the Pact will get a cash reward, paid for by those who didn’t get to the gym.

Several MapMyFitness activities that count towards the Pact include all runs, walks or bike rides tracked by GPS in the MapMyFitness app. Workouts need to be a minimum of 30 minutes with a pace above 2 mi (3.2 km) per hour, and a maximum activity time of 3 hours long.
