Facebook keeps acquiring companies left and right. After the likes of Instagram, WhatsApp and Oculus Rift, they’re going for ProtoGeo, which we know for their popular Moves app.
Those who haven’t heard of it before should know that Moves is a popular fitness tracking application that automatically detects when you’re walking, running and cycling.
In a short post announcing the acquisition, ProtoGeo said they will be joining the Facebook team, leaving us wondering how much the social network paid for the privilege and whether or not they’ll keep the Moves app/service. Or whether they’ll somehow integrate it within Facebook mobile apps. We’ll have to wait a little longer to get those answers.
