RunKeeper for iOS gets a big update focused on goals

RunKeeper is launching an updated iOS app focused on Goals. According to the company’s own research, RunKeeper users who complete their goals log 50% more miles and 30% more workouts per month than if they hadn’t set goals.

So it’s only obvious that goals are working for a majority of folks. And whether you’re looking to run your first 5K or beat your friend’s best time, the new feature could help you reach your goal.

In the updated application, there’s the new “goals” tab which used to be known as “training.” From here, you will be able to enter your motivation and a corresponding picture as a reminder of why you’re putting in all this hard work.

There’s also Goal Coach which could help you set the right goal and training program that is challenging yet within reach. This feature combines everything it knows about you and others like you to make recommendations that are specific and effective for your needs and lifestyle.

From this point forward, your “job” is to log miles, and let RunKeeper do its magic. If you own the RunKeeper Elite subscription, you’ll also benefit from an enhanced Goal Coach that will keep you motivated with weekly updates on your progress and helpful suggestions on how you need to adjust your goal for success.
