Arcus Motion Analyzer is a “smart ring” currently raising funds at Kickstarter

Arcus Motion Analyzer

Smart bands are too cumbersome for you? Perhaps you want a smart ring? That’s exactly what Hungary-based Arcus Motion is looking to make, and is currently gathering interest and funds at Kickstarter.

Like many other wearables, this one will also be used as an activity tracker, but also as a motion gesture controller.

The part that will keep track of your fitness will be rather advanced with the option to gather such details as stroke style, stroke efficiency, total distance and total effort while swimming.

When swimming Arcus Motion Analyzer will be able to gather such details as stroke style, stroke efficiency, total distance and total effort while swimming. As for the said motion controller part, the company says that users will be able to control a number of applications and products using nothing but gestures.

“Just imagine being able to control any of the devices in your home with a simple gesture,” the Kickstarter page says. “The days of searching for remotes and learning how to program thermostats, sound systems and mood lighting are over.”

Arcus Motion is looking to raise $320,000, with a minimal pledge of $149 needed to secure one of the first Arcus Motion Analyzers. There are also limited edition versions with things like hand-painted designs which, obviously, cost more. If the campaign ends successfully, the first products are expected to start shipping in February 2015.
