RunKeeper introduces Rewards, makes Premium Training Plans free for Elite subscribers

RunKeeper Rewards

RunKeeper has teamed-up with Kiip to introduce Rewards for a “job well done.” When you complete a workout and hit the stop button, the popular fitness tracking app may present you with a little surprise such as discounts, free goodies, or something else. These Rewards will pop up from time to time when you’ve accomplished something awesome, like improving your pace. The company says that it is “carefully hand-picking” rewards from brands that will help keep its users motivated to hit their goals!

One of the rewards users be able to see comes from Pebble. The Pebble smartwatch, RunKeeper’s blog continues, makes for a “magical experience” when connected to RunKeeper.

RunKeeper Premium Training Plans

In the other RunKeeper news, they are making all of their premium training plans free for Elite users. From 5Ks to marathons, users will find the guide with just the right amount of workouts and intensity for them, all created by expert trainers like the folks at Greatist.com.

To sign up for a Training Plan, go to the “Goals” tab in RunKeeper and tap on “My Training Plan is” section. Then select the type of training plan you’d like, based on different objectives like “Get Fit” or “Do a Race.” Within each type, pick from the range of plans that feels right for you, choose your schedule and the start date that works best for you. After you’ve done that, you’re good to go! Your training schedule is available in an easy to understand calendar view that also includes helpful tips for rest days.

Unfortunately though, these premium training plans are currently iOS exclusive, and will be added to the Android app in the near future. Meanwhile, Android users are suggested to select and enroll in a premium training plan online.
