LifeBeam has updated its smart cycling helmet. The device that started its life at crowdfunding site Indiegogo is now in its second generation that keeps providing riders with continuous heart-rate monitoring, calorie and performance tracking, and beams that information (via Bluetooth) to compatible mobile apps. These include the likes of Strava, Endomondo, Polar Beat – Fitness Coach, Runtastic, and BLE Heart Rate Monitor.
The LifeBeam Helmet costs $199, and comes with a battery that will keep it working for more than 15 hours of continuous usage. That’s an improvement over the original model, which stopped tracking your heart after 15 hours (or less). Moreover, the new version of the Helmet also includes Bluetooth 4.0 and ANT+ connectivity options, while its shape has been redesigned to better fit one’s head.
Cycling helmet aside, the company also offers a hat and visor, each of which comes with a price tag of $89.
