Netpulse acquires Club Apps assets to expand its reach

Netpulse

The fitness industry’s digital platform provider Netpulse has acquired the assets of Club Apps, one of the largest makers of custom club mobile apps. As a result, the Netpulse platform has been extended to an additional 700 clubs in the U.S. while Kelly Sweeney, co-founder and former president of Club Apps, will join the Netpulse team as Vice President of Sales.

“Mobile has increasingly become the center of consumers’ fitness experience and one of the main touch points with the club’s brand,” said Bryan Arp, Netpulse co-founder and CEO. “This acquisition increases our platform reach and makes Netpulse the largest provider of club-branded mobile applications globally.”

In addition to standard mobile app features, Netpulse enables seamless integration with a club’s own systems, fitness equipment, and apps and devices, to allow members to connect with the club while on the go.

Netpulse recently announced a $18.6 million funding round in September 2014. The company’s products and mobile apps can be found in thousands of clubs in over 30 countries including leading brands like Equinox, Crunch Fitness, Gold’s Gym, Retro Fitness, and top universities, corporate fitness centers and YMCAs.
