Optimized Care raises $1M for its telehealth tech

Optimized Care Network

Optimized Care Network has secured a $1 million investment to expand its virtual doctor visit service and technology.

The funds came from Joseph Favazzo, founder and CEO of Lewis Center-based Modern Medical, which manages pharmacy programs and medical equipment orders for workers’ compensation programs.

As part of the deal, Frank Voytko — who also happen to be an adviser to Modern Medical — joined Optimized Care’s board of director.

The company offers a hyper-realistic video communication system that is set up inside a regular physician office. A nurse operates medical instruments like stethoscope that transmit results digitally to the doctor’s display.

Said system has been tested earlier this year with Circleville-based Berger Health System. Adena Health System in Chillicothe is another customer.

Optimized Care envisions using the technology it calls CareSpace to provide access to specialists who wouldn’t otherwise set up regular office hours in a small town, and for doctors to bring in distant specialists for a collaborative consultation.
