Omron Healthcare and AliveCor will be working together to make remote patient monitoring products more accessible through online and retail channels for people with heart conditions who are working to manage their heart health at home.
Omron has manufactured the number one doctor and pharmacist-recommended home blood pressure monitors available, whereas AliveCor developed a mobile-enabled heart monitor that lets people check their heart rhythm and rate while on the go. The AliveCor Heart Monitor is also the first FDA-cleared smartphone ECG that has the ability to instantly heart arrhythmias like atrial fibrillation.
Studies show that at home blood pressure monitoring has helped reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. By monitoring blood pressure, heart rate and heart rhythm at home regularly, in conjunction with regular doctor visits, users can consistently get an accurate picture of your heart’s health.
“We are committed to working with Omron because mobile health has gone beyond just recording and displaying heart metrics, patients are now working with their doctors to correlate what symptoms, activities and behaviors may be impacting their health,” said Euan Thomson, president and chief executive officer at AliveCor. “Together, Omron and AliveCor can make that a more seamless and consumer friendly experience.”
