A new virtual visits service that connects women with healthcare practitioners will start next year. Called Maven Clinic, the service will allow women to book an appointment with a healthcare practitioner, speak with her via video chat, and then pay for the session, via a smartphones, desktop PC or tablet.
The service will be focused on prenatal and postpartum care as well as pediatrics. Nurse practitioners, psychiatric nurse practitioners, OB/GYNs, pediatricians, dermatologists, nutritionists, women’s health physical therapists, doulas, and lactation consultants will be providing their services to Maven’s ladies’ customers.
“The price of the visit varies by provider type, but the service will be as low as $18 for a quick appointment with a nurse practitioner,” said Maven CEO and Founder Kate Ryder.
The company has already recruited hundreds of practitioners for its service, twelve of whom are featured on Maven’s blog.
Maven has secured funding from 14 investors, including Great Oaks Venture Capital, Venrex, and Female Founders Fund – F Cubed.
