Being watch can track activity and mood

Zensorium Being

Zensorium had a new device to show the world at CES – Being, which is a mood tracking product that can tell if a user is in distress, excited, normal or calm. Additionally, it can also keep up with “usual” activities and sleep, measuring one’s heart rate, steps, calories burnt, distance and speed.

The device comes with supporting iOS and Android apps, relying on close monitoring of heart rate and blood pressure to determine one’s mood. Being has an OLED display, a capacitive touchscreen, battery life of up to three days, and can be worn on the wrist or clipped onto the clothes.

The colored dots on the display are indicative of the mood – blue represents anxiety or “negative stress,” while yellow is more indicative of excitement, or “positive stress.” The watch should touch the skin and be worn at least 72 hours continuously for precise data tracking.

While developing Being, Zensorium consulted with both neuroscientists and psychologists. The end product will be available later this year and in the meantime, users can pre-order Being for $169. That’s the price until March when it’s set to rise to $199.
