SocialWellth secures $7.5M to bring mHealth app stores to providers

mHealth Dashboard

SocialWellth has raised $7.5 million from an yet-to-be-name investor with the idea to move beyond its current customer base of insurance companies and self-insured employers. The company will use the money to increase its digital health R&D and integrate Happtique, the app certification business it acquired last year.

SocialWellth offers an mHealth dashboard that integrates and aggregates third-party apps and devices to help payer members manage their activities from a single location. The solution allows payers to enhance member engagement by offering incentives, coaching, and personalized recommendations; while also assessing mHealth apps on behalf of healthcare sponsors.

The company claims it has curated more than 300 mobile health apps and devices, as well as over 700 APIs that help payers configure personalized components for their members.

Since December, SocialWellth has begun curating apps for chronic conditions as part of a population health management channel bWell.
