Kumu Wellness, a FitOrbit company, launched its iOS app, which was reportedly developed “from 5 years of data and health science.” The application matches users with their own Coach, who are dedicated to motivate, guide and add accountability to daily health and fitness.
Kumu especially emphasizes the selection criteria for these Coaches, saying that only the top 4% of applicants pass Kumu’s rigorous screening to become Kumu Wellness Coaches. In order to become one, individuals complete a proprietary training program, including a Motivational Interviewing course designed to create a client-centered coaching experience. Coaches are then made available to clients via in-app text, photo messaging and video chat.
The Kumu app is free to download, while 1-month subscription costs $19.99 and includes 1 video chat credit. The Kumu Wellness app also includes the Kumu Team Feed that allows users to interact with, and motivate friends using the app. There’s also an option to give their teammates a High Five on a job well done.
The application integrates with Apple Health, allowing connecting of various fitness and activity trackers, so that their Coaches can monitor activity levels and give real-time feedback. This, the press release says, can bring the actionable changes for clients every day.
